Carson Henry credits his grandmothers, Mary Henry and the late Helen Hooper, as having an enormous impact on his life and one of the reasons that motivated him to join the Beaches Council on Aging board.
“My grandmothers have had a huge influence on my life,” he says. “We were extremely close when I grew up, and I credit a lot of who I am today to the time we spend together. That connection is a big part of why BCOA’s mission is so personal and meaningful to me.”
“I first got involved with BCOA after seeing a posting on the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida’s board opportunities page,” Carson says. “The mission immediately resonated with me, and after learning more, I felt it was the right organization to get involved with and contribute to in a meaningful way.
“Joining BCOA marks my first experience with a nonprofit, and I’m excited to contribute to an organization whose mission resonates with everyone and has immense potential to grow alongside the community’s evolving needs.”
